How to sleep with a toddler in a 1-bedroom

We've been living in a 360sqft apt with our 16mo old and we're making it work. She was born really tiny and was always a horrible sleeper. We had no idea how we were going to get her to sleep through the night with her in our bedroom. We originally had her in a mini pack and play , which was great until she outgrew it (when I saw outgrew, I mean curled up since there wasn't enough room to sleep lengthwise). At about 12 months, she was still waking up 1-3x a night and we were totally losing it. At this point she was big enough to stand up in the pack and play and see us next to her. It was time.  While she was still in the mini pack and play, we had the brilliant idea of moving the pack and play to the living room while doing a "dream feed" and then putting her down there. She started sleeping through the night (there were a couple days of 3AM wakeups and some tears, but it was actually pretty minimal).  That worked until I stopped breastfeeding. We then tho

How to get a refund from fisher price for rock and play

The fisher-price rock and play has been recalled. Recall notice  here . Summary: stop using under any circumstances.  It's annoying to find the page for a refund/exchange from their website. So, here it is:  https://service.mattel.com/us/recall/BJD57_ivr.asp You have to send them back the two "hubs." It's best if you have a receipt, but at the very worst you will get a voucher from fisher-price for some baby products.

Getting a Free Breast Pump Through Insurance

While pumping sucks, it's necessary for most moms. Good news is, if you live in the US it has become (slightly) more affordable. There's tons of info out there on how to order a breast pump through your insurance (thanks Obama!). You can do this once per kid (per year). You can call the number on the back of your card to find out compatible websites to order one, but here's a short list: Aeroflow EdgePark Yummy Mommy Pumping Essentials You can go to those sites, choose your insurance and then choose a pump. You may want to check multiple sites, since not all offer the same options. They will also let you add on options and pay for them. You should check accessory prices against amazon and other sites, I didn't actually find the extras to be a good deal. Apparently some insurance will cover these extras, so it's worth checking multiple sites with your insurance.
